I have been entering the Royal Manx Agricultural show on the Isle of Man since 2005 when I only had a flock of 6 ewes and entered 3 of them, I was so delighted to get a fourth- my first ever rosette. The following year, 2006 I still only had 6 ewes but had a better idea which ones I should enter and again entered 3. This time I got 1st, 2nd and 3rd. In 2006, I also entered the Loaghtan fleece class for the first class with 3 fleeces and got 1st, 3rd and 4th.
What a year 2012 has been, all my years of careful breeding have paid off and for the first time I got best overall Loaghtan at the Royal Manx Agricultural Show with my beautiful shearling ram, Magnus. Also his fleece not only took first in the Loaghtan wool class but best fleece in the show.
It was champagne all round that night as we celebrated 17 rosettes (4 of them firsts, and 2 championship rosettes for the best sheep and best fleece) and two silver cups.
